Advanced International Services Receives Design Competition Excellence Award

Humble, Texas, July 14,2006 - Advanced International Services (AIS) announces receipt of the Design Competition Excellence Award from the National Institute of Packaging, Handling and Logistics Engineers (NIPHLE). The award was presented to Don Marks (Packaging Specialist) for Advanced International Services' involvement in the design and production of Long Life Reusable Containers for Low Signature Armored Cabs (LSAC) built by Stewart & Stevenson Tactical Vehicle Systems in Sealy, Texas. AIS Personnel, the Packaging Group at Stewart & Stevenson, and the Packaging Group at the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) in Warren, MI. worked as a team to put this superior package together.

The container was used for shipment of the LSAC Cab to Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan for retro-fit on 5 ton trucks manufactured by Stewart & Stevenson. The standard cabs removed from the trucks were then secured in the container for shipment back to the U.S. for storage.

After a full on site review of the LASC Reusable Container Design in Kuwait, be Representatives from U.S. Army Material Command Logistics Support Activity, Packaging, Storage and Containeriszation Center, Tobyhanna, Pa, the following is the final statement in their report:

"After a review of the process, it was determined that the repackaging process was perfect for the application. By originally designing the container to be reusable, the contractor was able to very easily ship the old cabs home and a minimum in labor and material cost. This is an outstanding example of reusable packaging at work."
